I was at the โ€˜Botticelli to Van Gogh'sโ€™ art exhibition earlier this year. It included this famous work -โ€œThe Sunflowersโ€.

As I stood looking at it, I found it hard to believe that this painting, the โ€˜real dealโ€™, was only one metre away from me. It felt weird and cool at the same time, like when youโ€™re in the presence of someone whoโ€™s famous.

It got me thinking.

Have you ever noticed how sometimes we see something so often that it becomes hard to imagine the difference between the original and the imitation?

Imitations are often cheaper, mass produced and therefore more accessible. This can cause us to accept them instead of working hard or waiting to have access to what we really want (ie. the original or โ€˜the real dealโ€™).

So, Iโ€™m curious. ๐Ÿค”

Is there somewhere in which you are accepting an imitation and have lost sight of what you really wanted?
