Driving in the car to the airport, my husband said โ€œHey, check out those birds on the leftโ€.

I looked and saw some birds sitting on a flagpole. Frankly, I didn't think they were anything special. So, I grunted a half-hearted acknowledgement to my husband and went back to the messages on my phone.

"Did you see the birds?' my husband said, pointing to a beautiful flock of one-hundred or so pelicans flying in perfect formation. They looked amazing!

Whoops! In that instant, I realised I had switched off my curious thinking as soon as I saw what I thought I was looking for. Had my husband not pointed them out again, I would have missed something quite special.

โ‡จ Is it possible that you have switched off your curiosity and stopped looking, because youโ€™ve assumed that your first answer is the right one?
