How would you explain this to a six year old?

โ‡จ A little while ago a client complained to me that each time they tried to understand a complex problem within the team, the technical experts would respond โ€œItโ€™s too complicated to explain and would take too longโ€

It reminded me of the popular Einstein quote โ€œIf you canโ€™t explain it to a six year old, you donโ€™t understand it well enough yourselfโ€.

Asking this question will help create a shared โ€˜big pictureโ€™ from which to have a focused discussion and ask focused questions. Without it, everyone starts at a different level of understanding which pretty quickly leads to frustration for all involved.

The Curly Question of the Day aims to engage a different kind of thinking and provide a new lens through which to explore the everyday.
