Unstoppable Retail: What's Working Group

Our strategy card sessions this week have been going really well, with strong engagement across the team.

We reflected on last week’s focus around steadying ourselves under pressure, and this week’s theme really resonated! Noticing what our brain does next.

As a team, we openly discussed how easy it is to slip into autopilot mode, especially when we feel we’ve seen the same issue before.

The common mindset shared was: “I’ve seen this before, I know what to do.”

While efficient, we recognised that this could reduce our curiosity and shift us into transactional mode, where we may miss understanding the member more deeply.

This awareness led to some great conversations, and the team was very honest and reflective.

For this week, we have chosen two strategy cards to focus on:

  • Clarify before you fix

  • Stay curious a little longer

These will act as warm reminders for us to slow down our thinking, stay present in conversations, and better understand each member’s unique situation before jumping to solutions.

We’ll continue to road-test these and come together daily to reflect on what’s working.

Looking forward to sharing our progress.

@Cindy Ng It is terrific to hear how the Challenge is enabling you to have rich, open, reflective conversations (both with customers and within the team)

. WHen we shift our thinking little by little is doesn't feel overwhelming - which means that our brain doesn't resist and try to do things the old way.

I guarantee that as you keep going refining your thinking practice after a few weeks, you will look back at where you started and be amazed how you've helped your brain to adapt and think under pressure.
