“How do I start a Curly Conversation?”

Questions provide the foundation for every Curly Conversation. A common mistake that leaders make is believing that the first question needs to be asked of their team. Instead, we need to ask it of ourselves and that question is:

★★★‘Where are we starting from?’★★★

You cannot navigate from A (where you are) to B (where you want to be) if everyone in the team is starting in a different place. By that, I mean physically, psychologically and/or intentionally.

When answering this question, it is important to use two lenses. One involves asking the question from your own perspective (ie. where am I starting from?). The other lens, involves asking it from your team’s perspective (ie. where are the individuals and the team collectively starting from?)
