I donโt know about you but I have a love-hate relationship with technology. I become quickly frustrated and impatient when it doesnโt do what I want.
This said, I am the first to admit that the technology we have today and the way it has enabled us to communicate during the last 2 years has been nothing short of incredible.
This crossed my mind more than once this week as I facilitated an executive planning day in Sydney for a senior leadership team. With 33% of people online and the remainder in the room, the session could not have happened without technology.
There is no question that online, face to face and hybrid conversations are different and therefore require different approaches. However, without the technology during COVID, we wouldnโt have been talking at all.
I will try and remember this the next time I am tempted to throw my laptop across the room because it has done yet another uninvited โupdateโ.
